A Belton woman remained in the Bell County Jail Friday after police say she hit a senior citizen with her truck, then failed to stop.

At around 10:30 AM Thursday, Belton police responded to a report of an accident in the 400 block of West Loop 121, where a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. An 82-year-old man had been hit by a black, 2016 Dodge pickup truck. He was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, where he remained in critical condition Friday morning.

An investigation at the scene led the arrest of 26-year-old Destiny Wolbrueck on suspicion of failure to stop and render aid serious injury or death and tampering or fabricating physical evidence. She was booked into the Bell County Jail at 2:16 PM Thursday, where she remained Friday pending formal charges. No bond had been set Friday morning, and only an unspecified third degree felony charge appeared on her jail roster listing.

18-year-old Alexis Ortiz of Granbury was arrested along with Woldbrueck for possession of a controlled substance. She was booked into the Bell County Jail at 12:45 PM, where records indicated she remained Friday pending formal charges. As with Wolbrueck, no bond information was listed Friday morning, and only an unspecified third degree felony charge appeared on her Bell County Jail roster listing.
