"Frozen" Christmas parades are happening across Central Texas this holiday season, and that includes Copperas Cove.

The 2020 Copperas Cove Christmas parade will happen at Copperas Cove City Park on Saturday, December 5, but the floats won't be moving - you will.

The Copperas Cove Leader Press' Lynette Sowell reports that holiday displays will line a route beginning at the Avenue B entrance to the park and ending near the ballfields. Rather than having spectators crowd together along the route, they'll instead be able to drive through so they can enjoy the parade from the safety and comfort of their vehicles.

If you've ever been to Nature in Lights at BLORA, it'll be similar to that. (By the way, Nature in Lights opened for the season on Friday, November 13. Here's what you need to know.)

Sowell reports that the  Krist Kindl Markt will be going on at the park as well, so you can do some Christmas shopping while you're there. Just be sure to wear your mask and give people plenty of space. There's still a pandemic on, so let's spread cheer and not germs.

Temple and Killeen are also having "frozen" parade this year.

Temple's 74th Annual Christmas Parade is scheduled for Monday, December 7 beginning at 6:30 PM. Floats and displays will line the road from MLK Drive and East Avenue A a to South 9th Street.

Killeen's 58th Annual Christmas Parade will happen Saturday, December 12 at 6 PM in Downtown Killeen. Again, families will drive through the parade.

Santa will make it to all three events, so be sure to wave when you see him.

Speaking of Santa, he'll be at a special event in Copperas Cove on Saturday, December 12.

Copperas Cove Parks & Recreation will host an Adaptive Breakfast with Santa at the Copperas Cove Civic Center from 8AM to 11 AM that day.
