Coronavirus Vaccine Clinic Saturday, February 6 at Copperas Cove High School

The City of Copperas Cove is teaming up with Coryell County's health department and Copperas Cove ISD for a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccine clinic this Saturday, February 6.

In a news release sent shortly before 11 PM Monday night, Deputy Copperas Cove Fire Chief Gary D. Young announced that the clinic will be held in the rear parking lot of Copperas Cove High School (851 West Avenue D) from 9 AM to 4:40 PM.

The vaccine will only be administered to those who register, make an appointment, and receive a confirmation.

"The Copperas Cove clinic online appointments will be active after 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, and until filled," Deputy Chief Young wrote. "At this time, phone calls for appointments are not being accepted."

If you meet the 1A or 1B criteria, you are eligible to be vaccinated. If you're not sure if you meet the criteria, you can view the categories at  Texas Department of State Health Services website: : dshs.texas.gov/coronavirus/immunize/vaccine/.

"The demand for the vaccine still outweighs the supply," Deputy Chief Young wrote. "We all must be patient while we are working through this. In the meantime, remember receiving the vaccine is voluntary; all are encouraged to research the vaccine to determine your desire to accept it or not."

While news of the vaccine is encouraging, it's important to remember that many vulnerable people have not yet been able to receive it, and that people who have received it can still pass the virus along to others if they're exposed.
