I'm calling it now.

Matthew Kyle Leatham of Pasco County, Florida is now the official face of "Florida Man", even if his alleged crimes weren't nearly as weird or awful as we're using to seeing from American's don-...um, peninsula.

I did a double-take when I saw this come across my newsfeed from our partners over at KWTX.

According to Pasco County Jail records, 22-year-old Leatham was arrested Sunday and charged with misuse of the 9-1-1 system and marijuana possession.

According to police, Leatham called 9-1-1 around 4:23 AM Sunday, January 31 to ask for a ride home. According to a complaint, Leatham used some not-so-wholesome language while talking to the operator, who kept their cool and provided Leatham with a non-emergency number he could call.

An officer then spoke with Leatham and offered to call him a taxi, but Leatham said he didn't have money for one, declined the offer, and started walking home.

Leatham then reportedly called 9-1-1 again to ask for a ride home, so the same officer found Leatham walking and arrested him for tying up the emergency line for what was clearly not an emergency.

To make matters worse, the officer found 20 grams of pot on Leatham, who, the officer alleges, denied even knowing what the substance was.

Yikes.

Jail records show Leatham was released from jail the following day.

I almost feel bad for Leatham. If he'd only called 9-1-1 once, it still would have been misuse of the line, but all he had to do was call the other number they gave him or just go on his way. Hey, he tried to find a sober ride home, so that's good, but being a jerk on an emergency line and then calling it again? C'mon.

Now, I don't want to seem too judgmental here, but somethin' tells me a guy who gets the state of Florida tattooed on this forehead ain't playin' with a full deck.

So Matthew, I hope you learned a lesson here, but something tells me you didn't.
