Fort Hood Soldier Fatally Wounded in Auto Accident Identified

Fort Hood officials have released the name of a soldier who was fatally injured in a car accident on South Range Road, Saturday, January 7.

24-year-old Spc. Barron Von Reichelt of Las Vegas, Nevada entered active-duty service in January of 2015 as a canon crew member. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division in April, 2016.

Reichelt's  awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
