Killeen police are investigating after a man was fatally shot at a club early Sunday morning.

Officers were dispatched to Club Legends at 308 South 2nd Street around 3:09 AM after someone called 9-1-1 to report a shooting victim.

When officers got there, they found a man with a gunshot wound and tried to render aid before paramedics arrived.

Unfortunately, the victim passed away as a result of his injuries and was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Bill Cook at 4:16 AM. Cook ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

According to Ofelia Miramontez with Killeen Police Department Public Affairs, this is the fourth criminal homicide in the City of Killeen so far in 2021. She said Sunday's shooting remains under investigation, and police don't plan to release more information.

Investigators are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has helpful information contact Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-TIPS (8477) or online at bellcountycrimestoppers.com. Information can also be submitted via the free P3Tips app.
