Mom Becomes a Speed Bump to Save Her Kids

Most of us will do anything for our kids.  But would you use your body as a speed bump to stop your car with your kids inside? 

That is what a Lawrence, Mass. mom did.  22 year old Mindy Tran says her instincts just kicked in when she sacrificed her body for her girls.

Here is what happened.  Mindy says she backed her Honda into the garage, put it in park and had her 2-year-old twins buckled in the back seat when she got out to lock her front door. The car started moving, right down the steep driveway and into a busy street.  Mindy says she had to do something,  "I had to use myself as a speed bump to slow it down enough for one of my neighbors to get in and completely stop the car" .

Her neighbors did run over to help, jumping into the car, stopping it and getting the girls safely out. Mindy was trapped under the car.Firefighters arrived and used an airbag to lift it off her.  Her left knee was crushed and her right leg dislocated from her hip.

Mindy is still recovering, she uses a wheel chair for now, but she says it was all worth it, knowing that her girls are fine.
