Trick or treating this year will most certainly be a little different with COVID going on, but if you're looking for a way to do it safely, this may be the answer. Introducing Treat Town.

Treat Town was created by Mars Wrigley, the company that knows all about candy. In fact, they are responsible for for making two of my favorite candies: M&M's and Snickers.

Mars Wrigley created the Treat Town app so families can enjoy the Halloween tradition in a COVID-friendly way. Treat Town lets kids trick-or-treat online and get actual candy in real life.

According to Woman's Day, here’s how it works: First you download the app, Treat Town, then you sign up to be a candy giver or a trick-or-treater. Givers buy virtual candy credits that they pass out to trick-or-treaters. The trick-or-treaters collect the credits and exchange them for real candy either online or in stores. And since it’s online, they can virtually knock on doors of people they know around the country. Cool right?

Treat Town also lets you decorate your virtual door with spooky avatars as costumes. plus a very cool “treat it forward” feature allows you to give your candy credits to the Boys & Girls Club of America as a cash donation.

The app will be available for the entire month of October, and if you're on vacation you can trick-or-treat at the Disney Haunted Mansion from October 23rd to 31st to unlock special costumes from Disney.

Happy Halloween!
