You know, as I'm commuting from Austin to Temple and back, there are certain areas along the highway where there always seems to be heavy traffic and car wrecks.

When I pass those scenes, I wonder about the drivers and how they are feeling. Did they have a good or bad day at work?

I feel like that determines how they react to traffic and whether or not some road rage is about to unfold.

This story is a little different from road rage on a busy highway, but it also makes me really want to know what was going through this guy's head.

Temple police officers responded to an aggravated assault call around 1:30 p.m. When they arrived, the found that a car had crashed into the Discount Tire at 721 SW H K Dodgen Loop.

Police say the 28-year-old driver, Christopher Anderson, got into an argument with a woman. As the fight escalated, the woman jumped out of the vehicle, and that's when witnesses say Anderson attempted to run her over.

Fortunately for her, he missed. Unfortunately for Discount Tire and himself, he crashed into a building.

The 26-year-old woman was transported to the ER for minor injuries she suffered when jumping from the vehicle. No other injuries were reported, and she's being treated at Baylor Scott and White.

Anderson's cooling off in the Bell County Jail, where he was booked at 2:18 PM. No bond information or charges were listed on his roster sheet Tuesday afternoon, and the incident remained under investigation. If you have any information that could be helpful, call Temple PD at (254) 298-5500.

You have to wonder what he was thinking trying to use his car as a weapon.

When I'm out and about, I cringe when domestic partners get into fights 'cause you know things could easily go from bad to worse and escalate like this.

I'm relieved that the only things seriously damaged were the car and the building.
