Here's some great news for us puck-heads: NHL owners and players have agreed on a start date to open camp.

According to the Killeen Daily Herald, the NHL Owners and Players Association have agreed to re-open training camps on July 10 in hopes to finish the season and get a Stanley Cup Champion.

Both sides have already approved a playoff format that would see a total of 24 teams compete for Lord Stanley's Cup, but they still need to decide on health and safety protocols and what cities will host the games.

Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane says, "I think we have to be pretty cautious about that, hopefully, the owners and the commissioner and the players can all work out a deal that’s fair for everyone, and the players feel safe enough to come back and get back into some sort of normalcy here.”

If all goes as planed, camps would be open for two weeks with exhibition games beginning July 24. Playoff games would start about a week later.

It's important to remember that there is no guarantee hockey is coming back amid the COVID-19 Pandemic. This is just the next step in getting the season back on track.

So while Major League Baseball owners and players continues to argue about the 2020 season, The NHL and NBA, along with the NFL, are finding their way back to action.
