The CDC says you should find an alternative to trick or treating this year Bah humbug.

According to FOX44 News, the Centers for Disease Control says,

“Many traditional Halloween activities can be high-risk for spreading viruses. There are several safer, alternative ways to participate in Halloween. If you may have COVID-19 or you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, you should not participate in in-person Halloween festivities and should not give out candy to trick-or-treaters.”

So, according to the CDC, trick or treating is a bad idea. Instead, here are some other options.

-  carving and decorating pumpkins.
- decorating is a great way to show your Halloween spirit.
- host a virtual Halloween costume contest.
- host an indoor scavenger hunt

None of that sounds like as much fun as getting together with your friends, hitting the streets, and knocking on doors to collect the loot. Of course the alternative can be pretty scary as well. COVID-19 is real, not a made-up horror movie.

The CDC has listed some the "higher risk activities" and activities that carry “moderate risk." Those can be found on their website.
