Waco City Council has voted to extend the declaration of emergency for the city through October.

According to a KXXV Channel 25 report, the resolution was passed during a Waco City Council meeting on September 15 and extends the current declaration until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020.

The original declaration came on March 17, 2020 and has been amended and extended several times along the way. The press releases says:

"[A]s of September 14, 2020, 14,211 Texans have died from COVID-19, 91 of whom resided in McLennan County. because of the risk of the rapid spread of the virus, the need to protect the most vulnerable members of the community, and the desire to slow the spread of COVID-19 to the maximum extent possible, this Order is required."

So what does it all mean? Continuing the same protocols as we have been, wearing a mask in public places, six foot social distancing, limited capacity in restaurants and bars.
